Unfortunate news was bestowed upon the independent wrestling community June 14th. After a hard fought victory over Brian Myers (formerly known as Curt Hawkins) in the Alpha-1 Wrestling promotion ran by Ethan Page, Josh Alexander won the Alpha Male Championship. Sadly, Josh had some tragic information. After visiting a doctor, Josh discovered that while wrestling, he has suffered a severe neck injury. A few months prior, Josh hurt his neck and got surgery. Now he requires surgery once again on July 23rd. Due to this injury, Josh must retire from professional wrestling. Josh had no choice but to vacate the Alpha Male Championship. Josh announced that would be wrestling his last match July 12th in Hamilton, Ontario for Alpha-1 Wrestling in a tag team match with longtime friend, Ethan Page. Josh will also be wrestling Rickey Shane Page for Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) on July 10th in Cleveland, Ohio. Josh made an impact on independent professional wrestling and was one of the best independent professional wrestlers. He wrestled for top promotions such as: Ring of Honor Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Absolute Intense Wrestling, All American Wrestling, SMASH Wrestling, and Alpha-1 Wrestling. He will never be forgotten and will hold a place in the ones that saw him perform. We thank Josh for everything he has done.
