WAR would kick-off with Triple H announcing to the fans about how he is the World Heavyweight Champion and how he will defend it on several occasions and how he will be successful come every title defense. Shawn Michaels would shock the audience as he made a surprising return to DWE for Michaels would say congratulations to Triple H but would change the subject and tell his best friend that he will not always be victorious in every title match. Michaels would then say that now that he's back, he's in top condition, he wants a title opportunity. Then, John Cena would interrupt Michaels as he stood on the stage and proclaimed that the only person that deserves a tittle opportunity is the man that has worked day and night, season after season, the man that has captivated millions of DWE fans across the globe.....until CM Punk would interrupt Cena's speech as Punk wanted his opportunity that hasn't been given to him in quite some time. Cena would disagree as he thinks Punk has had many chances to once again get the gold around his waist while Cena hasn't. Triple H would stand and absorb all the bickering as this was all because of the World Heavyweight Championship. Finally, the General manger of WAR, Randy Savage would intervene and settle the dispute by establishing a Triple Threat match to determine who the Number One Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship is as Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and CM Punk will duel it all out come the Main Event later tonight.

Triple H would ignore Punk but all of sudden Triple H would be assaulted from behind by Lita. Lita would then beat up Triple H on the ramp stomping on his body as Punk made his way the destroy the World Heavyweight Champion. Punk would stomp as well while Triple H groans in pain as he tried to make it up onto his two feet. Punk would drag Triple H down towards the ring and would then pull him into the ring to pick him up over his shoulders and deliver a viscous GTS while Lita watched on and gave the World Heavyweight Title to Punk to hoist in response to Triple H.

WAR would start off with CM Punk accompanied by Lita. Punk would declare himself as the man that will always get his way. Punk would then tell the fans that he doesn't want to face Triple H for the Championship tonight, he instead would like some actual competition. Punk would continue by saying that no one in the locker room is able to be victorious over him as Punk said that he is more skilled than any of his opponents. Punk would say that now with Lita on his side, he's stronger than ever. Lita would stare passionately into the eyes of Punk until Punk would be interrupted by Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit would enter the ring and gaze over at Punk while he would tell the fans if they were sick and tired of the digesting things that come out of the mouth of CM Punk. The fans would cheer. Benoit would then say, “Hear that.....that's the sound of change. These fans and supporters of the DWE want something different. Even though you're the Number One Contender for the DWE World Heavyweight Championship doesn't mean you can come out here and run your mouth all you want explaining to the fans and the company what you want to meet your satisfaction. I'll tell you what.....tonight these fans want variety. So, we'll give them something different. You and me, in a match that has rarely occurred in this ring....a Submission match. CM Punk would look into each sides of the ring telling the fans to stop cheering. Punk would respond to Benoit by declining the match saying that the match right. Benoit would then want to know why. Punk would explain, “because.....I would defeat in seconds, making you tap out to the Anaconda Vise.” Benoit would then smirk saying that Punk was good at making things up very last minute. CM Punk would have his arm raised until he rushed out of the ring when the World Heavyweight Champion's music began to play as Triple H ran down the entrance stage. 12/29/14 Kassius Ohno would make his way to the ring to discuss his reign as World Heavyweight Champion, telling the crowd how he won the title back in July from Kevin Steen, and has successfully defended more than ten times, proclaiming that he is the most dominant World Champion in the history of DWE. He would be interrupted shortly afterward by the Number One Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk. CM Punk would come to the ring to greet Ohno and congratulate him on his victory over Dean Ambrose two weeks ago at BIG ASS Christmas Bash. Ohno though, would not accept Punk's condolences and instead would tell Punk that he has not forgotten the GTS he receives after his match with Ambrose. Punk would smirk, projecting to the crowd that Ohno honestly, deserved it. Ohno would think differently, speaking to Punk once again, stating that come his next title defense at the Royal Rumble, he will once again be victorious over his opponent. Punk would then ask Ohno if he was being serious. Ohno looked on furiously as Punk would retell the story and friendship they once had back in the independent circuit when they fought each other continuously in matches early on in their professional wrestling careers. Punk would then discuss the match that put the both of them on the map, the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match that they two had 13 years ago. Punk would then tell Ohno that he put up one heck of a fight in the match, but it ended up with Punk standing over him on a ladder with a championship in his hands, the same way it will look come the conclusion of the Royal Rumble. Ohno would deny Punk's beliefs, proclaiming that Punk will be motionless after the beating he'll suffer from him. Ohno would say that he was finished talking to Punk as it was simply a waste of his time, telling him he has better things to do rather than communicating with a "born" loser. As Ohno attempted to exit the ring, Punk landed a large kick to the back of Ohno's skull, but Ohno was able to leave afterward, holding his head, yelling at Punk that it will all be overcome the Royal Rumble.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage would be standing backstage talking to Bret Hart on what just occurred between Ohno and Punk, and would come to the decision of putting both competitors in singles matches having each of them choose each other's opponents since they seem to know each other so well. Savage would also announce two more matches: Finn Bálor VS Solomon Crowe and Seth Rollins VS Dean Ambrose.

Singles Match Seth Rollins VS Dean Ambrose Winner: Seth Rollins Ambrose would grab a microphone and tell the crowd that at the Royal Rumble, he will come out victorious over the other 39 opponents.
Now, CM Punk would be backstage with Renee Paquette to announce his choice for Kassius Ohno's opponent for his match Ohno would suddenly attack Punk from behind, before he could even say who his opponent was Ohno would continue to fight Punk, hammering him with brutal shots and throwing him into anything in the backstage area Ohno would eventually make his way to entrance of the arena, near the merchandise stands, where he would push Punk up against a wall, looking to finish him off with his "KO", but Ohno immediately thrown down the stairs into the WAR arena It would be revealed that Ohno's opponent was the man he beat to achieve the World Heavyweight title, Kevin Steen The fight would proceed, but Randy Savage would come out, halting Steen from beating up Ohno even more, for he would tell the both of them that this match is a Street Fight Match.
Street Fight Match Kassius Ohno VS Kevin Steen Winner: none Ohno would take advantage of the announcement by Savage, crawling behind him while the announcement got Steen's attention, allowing Ohno to deliver his "Ohno Blade" which knocked Steen out cold Ohno tried to drag Steen to the faraway ring, but was unsuccessful as Steen regained consciousness, throwing Ohno into the side of the entrance stage Ohno suffer numerous fists to the face, courtesy of Steen as he was thrown into the ring, leading to him being tossed into the ropes, then lifted up by Steen for the "Pop-up Powerbomb", but Ohno somehow delivered a devastating kick to Steen in mid-air, which allowed him to leave the ring, eventually exiting the arena, escape the returning Steen, ending the show
